Subscribe to thread, default

Is there a default for when I create a new thread or post in a thread it gets sub'ed by default?

Yes it's in.... User Control Panel, Edit Options, Default Thread Subscription Mode
Then you have a drop down with 5 options to choose from

Don't people know they can subscribe to a thread without posting "subscribed"
All they have to do is subscribe using the "Thread Tools" button at the top of every page of a thread.
