Cali SD smog Regs: What can I get away with modding

I'm looking at getting an '02 CCLB to replace the '95. Right off the bat I wanna put a bigger intake and exhaust on, its always beena cheap way to free up power on these trucks. Am I gonna have to re-bolt the OEM system every year for smog, or will it pass with straight pipe? What about injector mods, etc? Thanks guys

Check to see if it has a cat. If it has a cat, you'll need to have the cat at inspections. As far as intakes, find one that has a CARB E.O. number. If it does, they won't fail you for it.

That is incorrect about the intakes, all intakes are legal. You are just less likely to encounter resistance with an EO number.

So by this the CCV mod is not legal and will need to be changed?

CCV

I routed my CCV back into the intake after the canister so that it would still be smog legal. Picked up the canister/filter at Tractor Supply. It's an inline filter used for spray rigs and it seems to work great. Pretty inexpensive too.
