I know it's a couple of days in advance, but with some maybe traveling or doing a lot prep because you have a house full coming over, I just thought I'd ask what you all are doing for T-day?

Several of my family are gathering at Mom's. My sister/BIL, niece/husband are coming down from Reno and the rest of us are from here. Mom lives here is Sacramento. Looks like we'll have plenty of food and knowing our bunch we'll be laughing a lot!!

We thought we were going to have a nice and quiet holiday this year, with just the close family, but now we just found out the other day that the "dark side" of the family will be coming this year, and we are going to have a little over 30 people over and about 10 of them, no one likes at all. They all have pretty hefty appetites, too, so it should be interesting to see how it all turns out.

I got lucky this year, I "had it out" with that side of the family about a month ago, so they're not showing up

That sucks. I'm having Thanksgiving with my in-laws this year. We lived with them for about 6 months when we first moved up here and during that time they were 100% "the dark-side" of the family for me. Since we've moved out, though, our relationship has been exponentially improved. It makes perfect sense, of course. Living with your in-laws is just never going to be easy. It should be pretty fun, though. They're all pretty redneck and informal, (in a good way. They know how to have a good time.)

Found that out the hard way a long time ago. Right after I got out of the Navy, we lived with Pam's folks. Was not a good thing. Like you, it took a while after we moved out for things to settle down too. One thing we (okay me) had to our advantage was that we moved from Sacramento to the bay area. The distance helped.
