Boosted launch vid

Was messing around today and took a couple of vids. The first is a 4x4 boosted launch. Sorry for the quality, I had one hand on the wheel, one on the camera, and one foot on the floor... My EGT's never hit 1300* on WOT (you can see the pyro at the top, the other 2 are boost and fuel but didn't come out from the glare). With stock injectors I can hold 35psi boost, and my fuel pressure never drops but a couple PSI below 60. You also get a halfway decent look at the RPM's as I run through the gears. I have a little shift flare on the first two shifts I need to discuss with Eric. Not sure if its bouncing off the limiter or what? I panned the camera right at the end as I let off at about 100mph.

The second vid is just to give ya'll an idea of what a 6.0 sounds like with a non VGT turbo installed. I'm running an Industrial Injection 62/70.

Thanks guys. I need to work on my launches some more before NHRDA drags on April 25th near here at Cordova. The brakes just don't want to hold past 18-1900 RPM. Got to send the vid to Eric too and see if he can make it shift a little tighter. I don't think my tranny is giving up yet, but I've been wrong before.

Stupid question alert!!!! What is the difference in a non-vgt turbo and a stock one?

stock turbo has variable vanes in the exhaust housing that electronically open and close. Tighter off idle to speed up the spool then they open as the boost comes on. Theoretically best of both worlds. Acts like a small charger to get it rolling then opens up to act like a big charger to breath more on the top end. Non VGT is a fixed geometry setup. A little slower to spool, but A LOT less drive pressure. Mine non VGT is just a little bigger than the stock unit as far as size goes but flows a lot more air. Only time it feels a touch laggy is at highway speeds when you step on it. Takes slightly longer to spool than the stocker when you're already cruising.
