A little video for dirty Texans.

Some years ago I and some friends (about 8 ) started to rally people in Texas for the promotion of offroad activities. We ended up forming the TMTC or Texas Motorized Trails Coalition. Even though over the years my priorities have forced me to withdraw from the actual running of the business end (it was a nightmare in the beginning) I am proud that I was part of the founding members. TMTC recently got some due publicity. link below \/\/ The Mexican (Victor) and red head (Leslie) in front of the black Jeep are my neighbors that still lobby in Austin for multi-use rights in Texas. Leslie has arguably done more for off roading in Texas than ANYONE. Other states contact her on a regular basis to consult her for info for starting their own programs. Anyways, I just wanted to post up a little about it since I know some of you guys do a little dirt ridiing. If you ever see Leslie on the trails, stop and tell her hello, and maybe drop a thanks since she goes un-noticed all too often.

Well before this came along, you had to go to Clayton, OK to go wheeling in a 4wd legally. And that is 7-8 hrs away from Houston. Texas closed up all the National Forrests and public lands back when Al Gore was handing over our parks to the UN to make "biosphere preserves". It's gotten a little better since other property owners saw the success of this project and opened their own private off-road parks ie. http://www.shilohridge.com/
But, for the most part, if you wanted to do any hard core 4wheeling, you had to go out of state.

Awesome! Just wish other states would give us wheelers some places to play legally!
