And that, boys and girls, is why you ALWAYS keep your finger off the trigger until you are ready to shoot. Stress does crazy things to the body, like making your muscles contract (a bad thing when your finger is on the trigger). I've seen this before, it was an AD (accidental discharge) or "negligent discharge" if you ask me. |

BIG mistake. I would guess there were a few contributing factors; Rookie (ie. little to no experience), stressful situation (especilly for a new cop), VERY POOR weapons training, and I say again stress does strange things to the human body, like LOSS OF SITUATIONAL AWARNESS!! (tunnel vision, she was so focused on the suspect that she probablly didn't even realize her weapon was drawn, let alone finger was on the trigger.)
