maybe the ifs
that junk dont belong on a diesel 4x4, or any 3/4 or 1 ton 4x4 truck for that matter

i've seen them break pulling sleds.... then knowingly try and drag race afterwards, with broken tie rods. very dangerous.

From what I've experienced with Duramax's they put the power to the ground FAST. My friends duramax spins all 4 and because of him I have faith in Duramax's. Programmed since 800 miles and always on the highest setting and now has 27,000 miles 4th set of tires and no powertrain problems besides the rearend leak.

there are plenty of psd's that can spin all 4 tires with no death wobble (mine being one of them) it just makes you wonder, just like the toyota tundra thread.

how much faster can a duramax put power down at 20psi vs. a psd at 20 psi ? cant be that much difference if you release the brake at the same time, maybe i'm wrong.

What are we talking about here? Are we talking about the Durmax's spinning all 4 or are we talking about the death shakes?

the duramax 3/4 and 1-ton trucks use the same front suspension as the 1500 1/2 ton, just stiffer torsion bars. The weak link is the steering system. It uses rack and pinion instead of reciprocating ball like the Ford and dodge. Under boosted launches, the forward rotating tires are want to pul foward, but at the same time, toward each other. I was racing one here in town and his passenger side tie rod end broke. Luckily he went the opposite direction of my truck.
It is a very weak front end.
