I think it has a pretty aggressive tune in it. The rest of them that I found sound more like a standard Focus with a decent exhaust(non fart can).
Here is one without the tune. YouTube - Ford Focus TDCi Last edited by westcoaststrokin; 12-29-2007 at 12:05 PM. |

I would be chompin at the bit for one of them. It's a shame diesel sedans and coupes never caught on here in the states. I want to buy the wife a Mecedes E320 BLUETEC or the GL320 CDI but she doesn't like MB. I don't know of too many other sedans and SUVs with oilburners in them other than VW and Jeep.

Whats wrong with a VW? I love those TDI Jetta's and my wife wants a Beetle -- sooo, maybe a TDI Beetle is in her future

So far the only other car that is coming on line with a TDi is going to be the Jetta. Not big enough for us. |

Ahhh, gotcha... yah, the Beetle isn't big enough for us either... so I'm tryin to talk her into an Excursion
hahahawhat we men do for the women in our lives... ![]() I guess there were older TDI jetta's ... and the new 08 will be a TDI I think... but ur right -- as of right now, there aren't any TDI jetta's for sale new from VW |

It would be nice to see a Passat with a TDi. I am also looking at the Jeep Grand Cherokee with the oilburner.

Here's some info
![]() There are two main generations of TDI's found in North America. The first generation was available till 2004 used a distributor-type fuel pump and are designated VE engines and were 1.9l in size. The newer versions are called Pumpe-Düse (unit injector) engines (PD for short) and will continue till the 2006 models are all sold. The VE engines were found in A3 Jettas, B4 Passats (1995/1996), New Beetles (till the end of 2003), Jetta IV (till the end of 2003), and Golfs (till the end of 2003). The VE engine found in the A3 Jettas and B4 Passats were rated at 90hp and 149ft.lbs of torque. The A4 Jetta, New Beetle, and A4 Golf were rated at 90hp and 155ft.lbs. The PD version are available in New Beetles (2004 - 2006), Jettas (2004 -2006), Jetta Wagons (2004 - 2006), Golfs (2004 -2005), B5 Passat (2004 and 2005), and the 2005 V10 Toureg. The PD found in the New Beetles, Jettas, and Golfs are rated at 100hp and 177ft.lbs torque from a 1.9l engine. The B5 Passat with it's 2.0l TDI pumped out 134 hp and 247 ft.lbs of torque. The king of power is the 5.0l 310HP V10 Touareg that puts out 553 ft.lbs of torque which will be back as a 2007 model. The Touareg will be the only TDI available as a 2007 model due to EPA restrictions and VW changing over to common rail and will be using BlueTech Technology. In the mean time VW is produced as many 2006 TDIs to help cover demand into 2007. Once these are gone we will have to wait for the new 2008 models to arrive to fill our demand for these great cars. |
