New Dark Skies Poster Is For The Birds
Watch A Good Day To Die Hard Online So is this the deal that we're going to have to live with? Stephenie Meyer doesn't want to make any more Twilight books so studios resort to half-baked erotic fiction based on literature that wasn't of any quality to begin with? I was happy in November when the sparkly vampire franchise came to an end, not because I was sick of the movies in any way, but because they were exhausting to keep hearing about. But this means that the very immediate effect of Twilight will still be felt for years to come. Back in July, Bruce Willis said in an interview that production on the next installment of Die Hard, tentatively called Die Hard 5, was "imminent." The comment seemed to suggest that the project was about to get the greenlight and would start production soon after the comment was made. Seeing as it's been three months since the comment and no word has come out about the film, something obviously got lost in translation, but that doesn't mean that John McClane won't be returning soon.
Watch Die Hard 5 Online Digital Spy recently had a chance to speak with Willis, who is currently promoting his new film Red, and clarified his statement from July. Apparently, Willis misspoke, thinking that "imminent" mean "that you have a lot of 'em." So production of Die Hard 5 won't be starting up tomorrow, but seeing as he has confirmed that it will be happening, when might we see it? According to the actor, the project already has a script and is "probably going to happen in 2011." I haven't been a fan of the Die Hard 5 idea since Willis said he would be doing the film "to make fun of it" back in February, but there is one way they could excite me about the prospect: don't handicap it with a PG-13 rating again. "Yippie-Kai Yay, Mother****er" isn't a sentence that should be censored once, let alone twice.
Watch Die Hard 5 Online Following the news last month that the fifth installment of the Die Hard franchise, A Good Day To Die Hard, would include an adventure involving both John McClane and his son, a short list of actors appeared online suggesting what 20th Century Fox was looking for in a McClane Jr. According to the initial story, Ben Foster, Paul Dano, Aaron Paul and Milo Ventimiglia were all being looked at for the part. Now that list has been updated and while it isn't any smaller, it is noteworthy which name is still around for round two. Deadline says that Fox has narrowed it down to four actors to play the McClane scion in A Good Day To Die Hard: Liam Hemsworth (who was also recently rumored for one of the male leads in Stephanie Meyer's The Host); James Badge Dale (who has been popping up everywhere recently and is currently in production on Marc Foster's World War Z); DJ Cotrona (who is hard at work filming G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation in New Orleans) and the aforementioned Aaron Paul (who has spent most of his career on the small screen as of late, mostly on the incredible Breaking Bad). John Moore is attached to direct the film based on a script by Skip Woods.
Watch A Good Day To Die Hard Online Paul's addition is a great bit of casting for the film. With Breaking Bad just a few episodes away from finishing up the first half of its final season, we'll hopefully be hearing more updates on the cast's feature and TV projects going forward. Paul has been nominated three times for an Emmy award in his role as Jesse Pinkman in the AMC drama series, one of which, he won (with one nomination to be determined). It's been a while since I read A Long Way Down, but from what I remember of the role, it sounds like a good fit for Paul, and one more opportunity for him to demonstrate his substantial talent as an actor.
Watch Warm Bodies Online Nick Hornby's A Long Way Down is set in London and follows four strangers whose lives collide when they meet on New Year's Eve at the top of the building where each had planned to commit suicide. This awkward encounter leads to them telling their stories and postponing their suicidal plans. A friendship forms from there. In the feature adaptation, which starts shooting next month in London, Pierce Brosnan is playing disgraced celebrity Martin Sharp and Toni Collette - who also appeared in the feature adaptation of Hornby's About a Boy - is playing Maureen, the mother of a disabled son. 28 Weeks Later's Imogen Poots is playing teenager Jess, and according to Deadline, Aaron Paul has signed on to play "a pizza delivery man," which is presumably the novel's character JJ, who's American and an aspiring rock star.
Watch MAMA Online Paranoia will shoot in July, and is expected to hit theaters September 27, 2013. Heard is currently in production on Robert Rodriguez's Machete Kills. Aaron Paul has earned a lot of deserved acclaim for his portrayal as Jesse in AMC's Breaking Bad, and now he's joining the cast of the feature adaptation of Nick Hornby's A Long Way Down, filling the last of the four lead roles in the drama, which is set to be directed by Pascal Chaumeil.
Watch Identity Thief Online Based on the novel by Joseph Finder, Paranoia posits The Hunger Games star/future Mr. Miley Cyurs as a blue-collar guy who makes a fateful—and illegal—mistake. But rather than turn him in, his boss blackmails the young man into infiltrating his corporate competitor, a rival telecommunications firm. Heard would play Hemsworth's love interest, a one-night-stand who proves a useful—though probably unknowing—informant, who works for the rival company. Now, I know what you're thinking, "A thriller about an intense rivalry between telecommunication firms! It's like Hollywood's reading my wish list journal!" But simmer down, because though Luketic has somehow secured Harrison Ford and Gary Oldman to co-star—likely as the business adversaries—it's worth remembering that the director's filmography includes such painfully terrible efforts as the card-counting crime-drama 21 and the Katherine Heigl rom-coms The Ugly Truth and Killers. Between him and the snooze-inducing logline, Paranoia seems sure to be another forgettable feature that'll clutter Heard's résumé until something better comes along.
Watch Side Effects Online Dark Skies tells the doom-laden story of a suburban family, Daniel (Josh Hamilton) and Lacy (Keri Russell) Barrett and their children Sam (Kadan Rockett) and Jesse (Dakota Goyo), whose lives are disrupted by a series of horrifying events, and long the way they discover that a deadly force is after them. Since most of the promotional interviews tell us that the central conflict involves aliens haunting their kids, it’s unclear why these ads are so one-dimensional. See for yourself if a bird in the sky is worth a few hundred in your yard when Dark Skies opens nationwide on February 22, 2013. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Constantin Film has paid a "mid-six-figure fee" for Beautiful Bastard, the book written by Christina Hobbs and Lauren Billings (under the name Christina Lauren) that was originally written and published as The Office, digital Twilight fan fiction that Hobbs released back in 2009. The story centers on a young ingenue named Chloe Mills who takes a internship at a media conglomerate while getting her MBA. While there she carries on a "torrid love-hate relationship" with her boss, a man named Bennett Ryan. The novel itself hits bookshelves today (funny timing for this announcement, no?) , and though it seems a writer hasn't been hired yet to adapt the story, Resident Evil's Jeremy Bolt is attached as a producer.
Watch Breaking Dawn Part 2 Online If one watches the Dark Skies trailer for the first time, they might be inclined to think Alfred Hitch****’s The Birds and M. Night Shyamalan’s Signs somehow hooked up and had a film baby. The previews have done a decent job of laying down a spooky atmosphere, but instead of keeping the frights on tight lockdown, they throw them at viewers, hoping to get them in theaters to see a handful of other jump scares that will probably lead to a disappointing ending. If this ends up being an incorrect assessment, the blame lays at my feet, next to a pile of dead birds. Empire has released a new quad poster for Dark Skies, and aside from the fact that the skies are actually covered up by a bunch of clouds (not exactly dark), it appears the film's bird motif is too strong to be left behind. A giant flock surrounds the house of the film’s lead characters, the Barrett family, and judging from what the previews tell us, these birds are probably all ready to drop in a synchronized bird thunderstorm upon the house below. Considering this is a film about aliens, it’s unclear why they’re keeping the promotions so ornithological. What does the poster below say to you?
While the likelihood of each actor getting the job isn't mentioned, it is noted that Paul's commitment to the next season of his hit AMC show may prevent him from taking the part, which would be a true shame.
