A stock Dmax will NOT blow any smoke period... and if you watch the Stroker off the line he white smokes the passengar tire almost half way through the intersection...

I must agree - although the D-max's are freaking fast!! (one handed me my doors at DITD) but it all comes down to reaction time and launch and traction..the Ford driver was building boost and roasted his tires - thats when the D-max got out on him - never gained on him after that. Also - a lifted truck like that with huge tires racing a stock sized truck? come on... DUH the D-max won... if he hadn't that would have been very very sad! |

I have driven 2 duramaxes. Both were stock aside from one having a turbo back straight piped exhaust. The duramax in the video has a pretty slight haze at the beginning of the video, but you really can't see any when they go at the light.....a slight haze is common after the cat is removed. Duramaxes are very quick in stock form. I think it's funny how everyone brings out the chip card after it wins. Big heavy tires really hurt these rigs. Those 37's on the Ford took quite a bit of power out of it. Where? No one else knows of any. Dockboy was the most well known with a PSD, full weight running high 11's and he was only putting down about 775-800. David Lott was running low 11's, but in a truck about 2,000+ lbs lighter. Same story for Zane at Wide Open performance. |

the duramax was stock with a aftermarket exhaust and my duramax would haze slightly in the same form so with that said lets turn the tables,a stock PSD took a lift juiced up duramax and all you guys would believe it or am i wrong, guys a race is a race and the guy with the ford did do a slightly boosted launch and witch was a bad idea with the truck in 2wd but with the bigger tires he had less wheels spin and with the aftermarket hp(that makes up for the larger tires)he should still have taken the duramax but he didn't so he lost end of story..this is not a make war post just my thoughts

That's the norm on the more brand specific sites, but people need to think. I saw a thread on another board where a guy said his 02 Cummins on a Superchip took down a superchipped 6.0...I'm a "Cummins guy" and even I know the 6.0 is gonna whoop up all day on a 2nd gen superchipped Cummins. There's another thread of a TS chipped 7.3 beating a "coal rolling" duramax....come on now.....
