Good point Dream. Support our troops, even if you don't support the war you have to support our troops. It's not necessarily their choice to do the job they're assigned to do.

I'm currently a deployed soldier, and what she does is disgusting to me. I think I can confidently say that's how everyone here with me feels. Personally, I hate to say violence taken against her is the right thing, but, were I KIA and she protested outside my funeral, I hope my family would have the intestinal fortitude to do something about it, even a sharp slap to the face. I know if I had a son or daughter, even with my mind telling me it was wrong and such, I would take action without question. It's a shameful thing to draw attention to your cause at the cost of our fallen heros.

I suppose the t-shirt says it all... Never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups.

Sorry busy week at the office and I left yesterday on vacation, so I haven't been on much. Can't believe I missed this. It's funny Marc and I joke about having to keep out of posts such as this but there are some things that I just can't take.
First I began believing in God in a war zone. Funny how you look for something when you think the your gigs up. My religious beliefs stayed with me after the war. Church in general isn't the problem here and should in no way be blamed. This woman and her "church" have skewed beliefs. She has the right to worship and speak in whatever manner she prefers - and I won't say "God given right" because it's not. She's granted that right on the blood and sweat spilled by the American soldier. In 99% of the countries around the world she and her cohorts would be killed for even opening their mouth. The American solider, not her God allows her the right to speak like this. There is no quote in the bible that grants her that, it's on the backs of fallen men and women as well as those who server every day for the freedoms we believe in.
Off my soap box, take off the Admin hat and give my good 'ol country boy feelings here - she can piss up a rope. I gave 25 years of my life attached to this countries military and I'm dammn proud of if. My Grandfather, my father, and myself all wore combat patches because we went when they needed us, to fight for the freedom this "lady" is now abusing. Houston lost a fine young man the other day at the hands of individuals who would gut this woman on site. I HOPE she and her "church" decide to come to Houston for the funeral because I'll make a point to be there myself. I'm the nicest guy on the face of the earth until you pisss me off and this woman and her "church" have gone a bit too far. Hey Tony, the .50 might get us in trouble but I wonder what would happen is a few PSD's showed up and smoked out their protest..........literally.
May she rot in h-e-double hockey sticks and may MY god bless America and the men and women who serve to protect our freedoms as well as those that support them.
I'm going back to the beach - if I mis-spelled anything blame it on the beer......or that chick in the video pissing me off.

These people want you all to do just that...........the more opposition there is to them the harder they try. Crazy midwestern stubbornness I guess I dunno. They have nothing better to do than sit around and harp on this subject, hell they've been doing it most of their life. Until we can pass a law that stands up in court to keep them from protesting their going to be there and I hope there are people to oppose him peacefully. God knows they'd just love for someone to go off on them with violenece so they can sue them and spread it all over the media.

So point being, be more concerned with getting a law passed to stop them than how to bash their face in.

I think Bush has already done so, that interview is a few months old if memory serves. It escapes me how someone with such ignorant views can rise even slightly to be a church leader. I personally do not agree with everyone, but most of the time, I can understand their views and recognize a realistic basis for the statements they have made. But I am at a loss here.

I think big tall glass of Jonestown punch is in order. Drink up !

Did you guys catch the line about the "patriot guard", them boys were at my brothers funeral along with the phelps "insert explitives here". Them boys spen thier time and money to make sure the soldiers and thier famillies get the honorable funeral they deserve. When we left the church for the burial there was about 50 of them lining the street hold old glory, I still cry when I think of what they did for us, we didn't know any of them. GOD BLESS THE PGR AND ALL THEY DO FOR US!!!!

Now on to the phelps, my brother gave his life for these dirtbags to spread hate!!! Fred and all of his followers are nothing but religious zelot's with a twisted interpritation of MY god. And if you want to feel pain look into your mothers eyes while a man in uniform hands her a flag with some jerk in the background yelling that he deserved to die. I only heard it once until the PGR fired up thier bikes and made a little noise.

To sum it up, belive what you want to but many have died to give you the right to say what you belive but be respectfull about it. By brother did not ask to die, he offered it so the rest of us can continue our way of life!!!!!

ok.....I'm done

my sincerest condolances to you for your brothers death. I am a VERY proud american and i thank him for what he sacraficed for the great country!!!! As tough as it must be to lose a brother, I cant imagine the respect and admiration you and other people have for him. It is truley a great man that will give his life for his country.....and more importanly, he gave his life so those people COULD freely disrupt his funeral. Some people dont get it, and thats sad, BUT....Please do know that MOST of us throughout the nation understand what the dangers are to these young men, and more importantly, mourn each of thier death. I dont get into politics much on here, but i will say this. I am not against the war in Iraq....BUT i do hate every time i hear of another souldier that dies. These young men are the only reason we still have what we have. Each and every generation of Men, and now Women, has fought to protect the very freedoms that this country has, and some choose to use them to ruin a very difficult time for the relatives of a fallen souldier......

For your family, and most of all your brother, THANK YOU!!!!

WITHOUT A DOUBT!!!!! I despise these dirt bags. Here in Texas a group of biker's got together and go to Vet funerals and hold American flags to block these scum from being seen by the family members. I don't mean just a few show up either, generally a prety good size group of biker's and other appreciative citizens.
