Why does this happen when I tow? (sarcasm)

Proper sway control bars will prevent it from starting in the first place. If it does happen, take your foot off the accelerator pedal and at the same time engage the manual lever on your trailer brakes just enough to allow the trailer brakes to start dragging. It should slow the trailer enough to stop the swaying.
