if you look close at the pic, about 3 feet from the engine toward the outside tip of the wing, you can see the 3 foot hole that is in the leading edge of the wing. (sheet metal is only .025)kinda hard to see from that pic. the pilot is lucky he didnt hit the prop! would have been real ugly at the altitude he was at, would have been more than one dead.

they lost a pilatus porter shortly after that accident on take off. the pilot did not have the plane trimmed for take off position. no one killed though.


skydiving is safe, you probally have more of a chance of getting killed in a car wreck on the way there than in the air!

Jeez, when you read the story, DOH! isn't the right remark.

Still wonder why the pilot didn't see him and shouldn't there have been radio communication for jumpers in the area?????
