What kind of video camera's would ya'll recommend?

Depends on what you want. Mini DV is still the best for quality. But for eas of use dvd and hard drive are the way to go.
I love my sony mini dv.

i have the jvc with teh hard drive. great quality and you don't have to worry with any tapes or disc just transfer it to you computer and burn to a disc or play it straight to a tv. and it holds 30gb of video i think on teh highest settings it will hold 16hrs of video i think that is what it says.

have u thought about a good digital camera that has video capabilities? i think they all do by now-and then u can take pictures of everything and switch it over to take movies as well. just an idea

I have a jvc w/20 gig hard drive. Great little unit. No tapes or cd's to mess with. Has a usb cable to download to computer. Best bang for the buck. I shopped around. I like it!

the jvc withe the harddrive is able to switch from videos to pictures i really like it.

I have a Samsung Mini DV and it works great. I have had it for about three years and have never had a problem with it.

Thats why the mini dv is being fased out people just want to go to a sertain spot on the recording without having to search.
But for quality in the movie mini dv does out perform dont qwote me but I think the mini dv records at like a 27 bit rare and the dvd and hard drive is somthing like 8 bit rate.
I connect my mini DV to the computer threw a fire wire.
