I agree. This isn't to show the skill of the opperator, rather the hydraulic strength of their machine. I'm sure that any skilled opperator would be able to do this, figuring they're using quick connect and hooks to keep the machine in place. I hope they payed him well. An excevator isn't what I'd choose to fall that distance in in they had a hydraulic failure. Crazy stuff.

I own an equipment repair business and work on this stuff every day. I am def. not impressed with the operators skill. There are several people on here that are operators and run machines all day every day and are probably a LOT smoother than this guy was. There are several spots in the video you see him searching for the hooks in the tower. A good operator would be smooth and not wobbling around. I am impressed in the fact that they would spend that much money to engineer, build and assemble the structure for the display. JJ

Hell its not the climbing thats impressive to me, I think I could do that. Its the hydrolic power that thing has, man I cant hardly get the crap equipment we have to dig hard dirt much less pick its entire weight up with the boom.

I agree the operator wasn't very smooth but that's because all the real op's were smart enough to stay on the ground. This guy was the only one dumb enough to do it and the woman reporter standing under it must have been his girlfriend.
