If spot #50 isn't for a motorcycle, they are going to be in for a challenge

I'd park in spot 50, and hug the curb, you'll have more room and less dents.

the car next to me is a fairly polite asian lawyer, im not worried about door dings. its assigned parking. my roommate is on the other side, he is smart enough not ding me.

I HATE parking at my apartment. Luckily we do not have assigned spots so I always try to get an end spot (like your #50) so I can hug the curb and have PLENTY of room beside me. Also, people who just whip into a spot leaving the car crooked in the spot and those who can't center up between the lines make me mad..... Especially when you are trying to park a vehicle with actual size....
