Was driving last night at about 70 down the freeway and gave it a little gas to get around another car and I heard a loud noise and it was vibrating pretty bad. Looked underneath the truck and everything from the tranny back was coated in oil and there is a nice size crack across the case. F me. I can get a used one for about 800 but the truck has 2xx,xxx mile that it is coming out of. So I would probably end up getting that rebuilt. I can get a rebuilt trans for anywhere from 1800-4000, but i probably wouldn't get my full core charge back,if at all due to the crack. Does anyone know how much it would cost to have mine welded back up and rebuilt? What route would you guys go? I will be upgrading my clutch, is there anything else to upgrade on these trannys? The truck is mildly modded(intake, exhaust, chip) and I do tow some heavy loads? Sorry for the long post. Thanks.

hate to say but if it made that noise and had a vibration you could have lost a bearing and destroyed gears. havent had a 6 speed apart but have had eatons. and learned once a gear is shot it usally takes out a lot others. ends up cheaper to replace
