Use it in my 7.3, the trans and transfer case and rear diff, my Honda CBR1000RR, My wife's Jeep, and we are testing it in a couple of the trucks @ work. Volvo VNL64T's with Volvo VED 12 engines. I swear by Royal Purple, whats the question?

Sorry for the delayed reply. I haven't noticed louder starting in any of the vehicles that I use it in. I know that the race oil that they make doesn't "stick"(to keep it simple) as well as regular oil so they recommend priming pre-start. May sound silly, but make sure you are using the royal purple 15W40 Long Rider oil. It is their diesel engine oil. From what I have found from our test at work. We switched 2 trucks to royal purple, 2 to Rotella, and we used Delo in our fleet at the time. We changed the trucks over @ 80-100thousand miles. We send oil samples every P.M. (A-10,000 miles, B-20,000miles) To keep it short, since the switch the engines with RP oil have all but stopped any sort of wear, in cylinders, bearings and drive gears. Where as the other engines are wearing as "normal". The engines with RP oil are getting, on average, between .25 and .5 MPG better than the other trucks. Not much, but if you figure that the trucks run an average of 500 miles a day... thats alot. AND, if all that wasn't enough, using the oil analysis' as guides our drain interval on the oil has gone from 20,000 to between 70,000 and 80,000miles. I wouldn't have believed it if I wasn't the one doing the teardown and inspections on the trucks.
