Help - on vacation - Kent Washington: Need built tranny!

Early '99 Powestroke, DP tunes, GV overdrive, 3.73 axle, 4R100 auto:

Flashing overdrive light last three days. Made it from Coos Bay Oregon to Kent (south of Seattle) Washington. Torque converter wont lock, don't have overdrive. Diagnosis reveals that 1st-2nd and 3rd are slipping in tranny, ditto TC.

Need advice: Anyone in the south Seatlle, Auburn, Kent area that does tranny rebuilds or has heavy duty built trannies? Do not want the Ford dealer puttin in another 4R100 ready to fail.

Wish I could help. Just don't venture over to that side of the sound much, so I am not familliar with the shops over there.

Only best choice is to get a BTS or JW trans..a dealer may be able to get you one asap?

Turns out after scrambling for trannies, I picked the Ford dealer. Say goodbye to $4k...

Yep, rather have a built tranny, but reality sez any local shop other than dealer would have local warrenty - and I'm 700 miles away. I need a warrenty to follow me, and Ford is the only option back home.

Ford installing latest radiator/cooler, plus latest mods on 4R100 tranny - warrenty for 3 years/100k miles.

This is one of those swallow hard and pay the bill.

That's one of the reasons I chose AAMCO because they are all over the place.... but very glad you are getting it taken care of.
