Clutch Choice F-450
I have a 2000 Ford F-450,7.3 liter, 2WD, It has a Luk button style ceramic clutch that is about 5 years old with 84,000 miles on the clutch. The Throw out bearing is starting to go. I want to replace the the whole assembly. The truck is a Bucket truck that Idles more than it drives and also weighs 14,990 lbs before equipment and tools and the XR 650 are loaded. So most of the times I have weighed the truck it scales around 16,500 lbs. So I am wondering what the best clutch for a constantly heavy load would be?
I am still trying to figure out if the stock Clutch was 11" or 13" and if the replacement has to be the same size. Or can I go up to a 13" inch without replacing the flywheel?
I sent it off to a transmission shop to have the original clutch replaced and do not know if the Luk was a 11" or 13".:ford::please:
