broke

My truck just took a sh!t!!!! Driving last night took a turn up a hill when i tried accelerating the truck had no power and stopped at 25 mph. it would surge like the rpms would rev up and down on there own. i florred the acclekretar and would not go faster then 35 mph. something seriosly wrong. chips are off. neeed help asap was going to moab next week.

well at idle it felt like it was missing. but i got it fixed. i had low oil (my fault lol) so it was foaming causing my injectors to malfunction killing cylinders...

Im so glad it was an easy fix

ya so far it hasnt done it since... did an oil change and its ran fine since then so i guess low oil is a big problem in powerstrokes.

Well it is because the injectors run off of oil pressure, that way if you have some kind of catastrophic failure and loose all your engine oil (punch a hole in your pan or something) the motor will quit and not burn up. I've heard of the problem you've had, you must have been pretty low. I've had mine a couple quarts low and it didn't happen.
Glad it was something easy....and CHEAP!

good fix and at least you didnt have a major prob, my truck seems to eat oil untill it gets to be about 1.5 qt low, i dont know whehe it goes and i never see any leaks but when i add oil after about two weeks its back to being low... wtf?
