2006 F250 motor/tran prob

New to this forum and have been paging through threads. figured I would just make a new thread here in hopes for some guidance!

Looking to purchase a 2006 F250 deisel and am hearing there were a ton of problems with the new engine/trans.

Is there any way of researching by VIN if it were just a select batch or was it all of them made that year?

Who here has a 2006 F250 and has NOT experienced the problems?
Do I buy this rig or no??????

I think I wrote my OP incorrectly and might cause the posters to misunderstand. my apologies

the truck i am looking to buy has no known problems. i am just hearing online and with friends that this model year had a ton of problems with the 6.4 in 2006.
I didn't know if I should just steer clear of this year, or if the 'problem' is something Ford will cover. the truck has 32K miles on it.

i guess it's a gamble whether or not i'll have problems, but wondered how many folks really did get stuck with the bad engine and if it's even worth be selling my 'perfect' 2004 F150 for a 2006 F250 deisel.

How much problem are we talking? Does it give any warning or sensors?

The 2003-04 years are the ones to take a really good look at before buying. My dad has an 06 that has run flawless for 30 plus thousand towing a 35ft 5er. He did have the rear main seal replaced under warrenty but other then that its been a great truck for him
