5th Gear Bucking

I recently purchased a 03 F350 4x4 SRW 6.0l with the Torque Shift Auto Trans. It has 154k. I decided to service the oil and filters this past weekend and the step-son offered to help. While I was doing the oil and fuel on the engine he was draining the oil. Problem is he removed the trans plug and drained about 3 quarts of fluid before he realized what he did. I bought the MERCON SP fluid from the local Ford dealer and put the three quarts back in but I have noticed the in 5th gear, especially when cold and at 50mph and up at normal temp, I have a buck. I am not sure if its the trans or something else? Any ideas?

Checked the stick a couple of times. Right at the full mark. Doesn't do it as much when warm, but you can still feel it.

Do you have a monitoring system on the truck, (gauges-edge insight, dash boss) or a way to check ICP(injection control pressure)? I ask because my truck was doing the same thing and while monitoring ICP it would jump a few hundred psi(400-800). This has gone on for a year or so, and I finally lost all oil pressure and it wouldn't start. HPOP system leak.

Sounds like you may have an injector starting to give you some trouble. I thought I was having trans problems no CEL or codes ever popped, no black smoke would come and go and if I floored it it would go away. Then I eventually started getting contribution codes and bucking got worse. Changed out injector that was throwing code and problems went away.

lol this poor guy, just got. Could be HPOP system, injector or ficm thrown out there and thought it was the trans. Sounds like if you don't have em, its time to get a Edge Insight CTS
