Trans Shifter Cable

Ok I need a new shifter cable. Mine is broke by the transmission. Ok what actually is broke is the plastic piece that locks the trans shifter cable inplace. So when you shift the gear it holds the casing of the cable in place and the trans is shift into gear.

I can not find one at any parts stores by me and I can't check junkyards till monday.

Is this where the shifter cable comes down next to the trans and has a plastic piece that slips into a metal bracket that holds the cable in place?? If so I used a big zip tie to hold it in place. Works great. At least until you get your new part.

Do you have to get the whole cable? If so how much will it cost? Not that you want your truck jerry rigged but mine has been holding for 5000 miles now with no problems.

It is not rigging it is the zip tie mod. If it works as good as you say it does then I will leave it alone and save my money for more important mods that create hp.
