2wd E40D 1996 w/trans-command reverse only

Was wondering if anyone has had issues with their earlier model trans-commands? Im trying to diagnose an electrical sending issue with my ecu and am trying to decide on if its the ecu itself or the trans-command. The ecu isnt throwing codes when the transmission harness is unplugged. There is a plethora of issues including only having reverse and its acting like the forward clutch/s are gone. The transmission has been rebuilt and i know that if you dont peel the lock-tight off the oil sending bolt that comes from the factory(and replace with fresh lock-tight) it has been known to not seal and shakes lose which in turn doesnt allow proper oil flow to your forward clutches. I'm just trying to narrow down possibilities and see if i can fix the issues the cheapest way i can.
