Transmission acting very funny!

I have a 2003 F-350 7.3 Liter Crew Cab Long Box with 328,000 miles on it. Over the last few weeks the transmission has been acting real funny. I can start it up cold and head down the road, but when I come to the first stop sign and come to a stop, I try and go again and it feels like it is in neutral. I can shut the truck off for a minute or two and its fine again. When the truck is traveling down the road the transmission shifts and sounds fine. One transmission shop I did explain this to, he said that to him it sounded like I had a clogged transmission filter and to change it to see if that helped. Before I do that though I decided to see what this forum had to say about it.

Thanks in advance!

Is your tranny overheating or do you have any way to tell?
