6.8 trans swap question

I have a 99 f-350 of course with the 7.3, I had trans rebuilt 3 years ago, was never really right. Now it doesn't like to shift out of first, fluid is burnt. My question is are the internal of a 6.8 v-10 trans the same as the 7.3 trans? will this trans hold? My truck is stock, but I do tow an 8000 lb. camping trailer.

I THINK the input shafts are different, but I'm not sure.

I believe that I have seen this question posted elsewhere and if I remember correctly they are not compatable PCM wise at the least. Gas/diesel issues ETC. Don't think to V-10 trans will stand the torque levels even if it did work.

Well I ended up just biting the bullet and having mine rebuilt, 1st just gave up all together. Just a stock rebuild(for now) but at least it's under warranty for the summer. I hope to upgrade in the next couple of years. Thank you for your reply.
