New exhaust trans won't shift

Installed 4 inch straight pipe exhaust today on my 97 p stroke now trans won't move the truck when i put it in gear. tried to reset computer by unhooking batteries, did'nt work it act like it needs back pressure or something it worked fine yesterday and all before that w the stock exhaust now it won't move went around block with it and it only went about 100 feet at a time till the tranny would fade away and and it would just rev while in gear. any suggestions will help thanks guys!!!

I would bet just bad timing man. I'm assuming you checked the fluid level, but smell if its burnt. I'm no tranny expert but sounds like either low fluid or a bad converter. Either way good luck I just paid $2900 for mine from ford.
