got me an OD light but no help

hey guys... i just put in a new rebuilt tranny with triple disc converter yesterday. im having the OD light continuously flash in idle and driving speeds. its drvies and shifts seemingly fine, its hits a little harder than my stock tranny but i figured that was normal... the OD light flashed all day yesterday but today it stopped flashing for a while but then it went back on... and sometimes it just hits really hard on the downshift. what yu think? bad connection? anyone have this prollem? i had the truck scanned at 2 different shops and they both said their scanner wasnt pullin any codes, i was standin right there. it looked like they had some pretty cheesy scanners too so..... idano.

I suggest you take it to a trans shop and have them pull the transimission trouble codes. An obd 2 code reader is not capable of pulling these codes.

You could have a sensor not hooked up or something in the valvebody could be wrong. If you keep driving it you take the risk of burning up a nice new built tranny. I am going through the same thing right now thanks to my TR sensor.

Knowing it probably has a tilt wheel I would suggest pulling the upper & lower column plastic cowl & check for any wire chaffing at the od sw. wires going across the top of the column. Have repaired alot of them for the lite flashing off & on. Some i get in throws out codes for convertor slippage & solenoid circuit codes. Other won't set any codes at all. Its worth a look anyway. Yet again it could be the TR sensor.

I have a blinking light and an OBDII port did pick up a tranny code for ME. 0720 which suggest a Vehicle Speed Sensor is going bad. Most tranny codes like BC said won't come up on an OBDII scanner though. I'm not saying this is your problem, but it's my experience, maybe it'll help!
