Hello
I have a 2001 Ford 250 Super Duty 7.3
Took it to the mountains for the first time last weekend and going down a steep hill I noticed a smell from the brakes (no trailer attached).
So I started to look into ways to help control speed, going down hills with the truck and trailer.
I stopped into a shop here in town and asked about a Jake Brake. I was advised this might not work on my vehicle - is this true? I was told the transmission is in a free spin in drive and overdrive.
So I was doing some other checking and found a transmisson kit -
Tugger2 or similar Ford Lincoln Mercury Reprogramming Kits
Is there other or better ways to handle this issue?
Thanks
