Code P0712 Transmission Fluid Temp Sensor

Any one know how to fix this one? It's going in and out of the blinking OD. Shifts smooth when it's not blinking. Thanks All

What year truck? I need more info to be able to help you. If you have the Torqshift then this is a very common problem and can be repaired fairly simply.

P0712 is the code for the TFT shorted to ground. If you can monitor the voltage and see what the pcm is reading. If it is shorted to ground it will read next to zero volts. When it is shorted if you disconnect the main connector to the trans at the trans and see what the voltage reads. If the issue is in the trans then it should switch to 5 volts. Be sure to inspect the harness that runs down to the trans and look for any damage. If the issue is in the trans then you need a solenoid body since the TFT sensor is not serviced separately.
