need help with dual mass flywheel
i have 96 f250 psd with a dual mass flywheel.the flywheel rattles sometimes when im coming to a stop or starting ou because the springs are bad on it. Should i be worried, is it something that needs fixed right away? some people say it wont hurt anything and some say it needs fixed anyone know what to do? and if they possibly make a rebuild kit for those springs?

Just get rid of it, and go to a single mass flywheel. Eliminate the problems.
Dual mass was supposed to help dampen harmonic forces being transferred to the driveline, but ultimately, it creates a weak link in the system. |

The DMF can eventually crack and fail, this is a worst case scenario. Best bet, get the money together as quickly as possible, and change it out.
