Trannny puking fluid
I have a 2001 F250 4x4 w/ 7.3L diesel and auto trany. I got the trany fluid changed by Ford, then 2 days later I pulled my campler to the mountains. when I got to my campsite, my truck would not go into gear. I noticed fluid all underneath. The next morning, I put 9 qts of fluid in it to fill it back up, and then it ran fine. I took it to a shop, and a guy topld me the torque converter seal rolled out, puked the fluid, and rolled back in.....
I drove it home, pulling the camper slowly, and had no issues. I have been pulling my camper for 5 years now without issues on a stock Ford transmission.
What should I do? replace the seal obviously, but should I get a new torque converter? do I have some other issue?
this is the 2nd tranny in this truck and it has 100,000 miles on this tranny and 175 on the truck. All stock...
Please advise. I am going to get ti worked on, but I want to get the right work done to prevent a future fluid puking episode....
