od off light flashing

i am new to diesels and got a 00 f350 with 7.3 and 148000 miles trans was replaced a few yrs back. i noticed the od off light is flashing it isnt doing it untill u take of after starting it and it shifts from 1st to 2nd and it doesnt shift until around 2800 rpm and when it does its hard and some times u have to let off the gas for it to shift. and i wanted to see if converter was locking up and about 40 u get on it it will hit about 2500rpm drop down to 23 and hit pritty hard like it locked. it has a bully dog outlook on it but no programmer just the gauges. any one have an idea what it is dont want to take it to local ford they charge like 80 just to hook it up to a comp any help would be great!

The flashing OD light is the CEL for the trans. It has a code and does need to be scanned. But check your fluid to make sure it's not burnt.

i checked the fluid it is still red and doesnt smell burnt, had it checked with comp and it said spedon censor i just changed it took her for a drive and smae thing, also pulled up exhaust pressure control valve high would that have ne thing to do with it?
