99 Tranny issue
I have a 1999 F-250 7.3 with an auto tranny. I was driving yesterday and stopped to wash it in the car wash. After the wash, I got in and shifted into drive and it didn't move. I went through all the gears including reverse but there was nothing. The truck acted fine before this happened. I checked the fluid and it is fine. Any ideas on what happened?

do you hear any clunking or noises when you rev the engine? does the shifter feel the same as before and not easier? could be any of the things noted above.
More than likely not the input shaft. check the shifter linkage on the side of the trans on the drivers side. also, check transfer case, make sure its in 2wd. does it go into 4wd and move then? |
