Internal Trans Filter Help

Just changed the internal trans filter in my 06, replaced with one from an 08 for better filtering. (Also replaced pan with one from an 08, bigger filter needs bigger pan).

The filter sort of snaps up into the tranny with the orange rubber o-rings holding it up tight inside. BUT, the filter can still swing back and forth a little if you push it and seems to be a little wobbly at the very end of the "L" if that makes any sense. I can't see how it would go in any tighter or sit up higher -- it seems to be in all the way. I even pulled it back out and it is definitely in tight (took same effort as original filter to pull out), and when put back in it is exactly the same.

Is this normal?

Adam

Did you make sure the old orange oring came out with the old filter? They usually get stuck up in there when the old filter is removed.

Yes -- the orange o-ring was stuck up in there and I pulled it out with a little pick before putting the other filter in. It fits in tight just rocks a little at the bottom and can be turned side to side. But like I said, I pulled it out to see how tight it was and it is in tight, just like the original.

TTT

Anyone change an 08 style internal filter and remember how tight it fit?
