A/T going belly up....

Well...my transmission finally couldn't take my 2001 4x4 diesel torque anymore it won't drive or go anywhere in "D" but second works, first and reverse. Does anyone know of a reputable a transmission or performance transmission company online?

if it doesn't go anywhere in "D" but it does fine in second it might not be bad..... 'cuz it obviously doesn't start out in 4th gear'. did you check your shift cable adjustment? it is on the drivers side of your trans i believe and there is a square white plastic thing holding your cable to your tranny i would check that before u go buyin a new tranny. unless your looking for an excuse to upgrade anyway. theres also a possibility that something came off or is loose in your steering column

Drain your fluid if it has alot of clutch material in it the accumulater body could be clogged and sticking. I had a hell of a time getting 2 of the 3 cups out.

I had an E40D go bad 4 years ago and the shop I went to said I had 3 choices. A rebuild thru him $1,800.00 w/ 1 year waranty at his shop.
Option 2 a new Ford factory trans for $2,100.00 with 1 year warrantee.
or the 3rd option and the one I chose-a Jasper trans with a nationwide warrantee w/ 3 years or 75K miles for $2,300.
Here is why I chose option 3-Warranty-nationwide warranty-and at 2 years 11 months and 19 days it blew a front seal and Jasper decided to replace the trans at no cost or deductible... Warranty!!!!!
PS You can contact Jasper on line and locate a dealer.
