I will admit I once pulled a HD 7'x14' beavertail trailer double axle with a Ford Escape! Trailer was loaded down with furniture for mission. Poor Escape couldnt do over 35 floored up the mountain passes - but - it did pull it. Not happily mind you.

It might have towed it, but I bet it took a country mile to get it stopped. In my younger days I towed a tiny utility trailer with a motorcycle 1200mi in an escort. One of the most unsafe things I tave done. Even that much weight took FOREVER to stop going downhill, you really needed to plan ahead.
