Need A New Hitch

I've settled on a trailer, its a Belmont 6Ton Deck-over-Wheels Heavy Equipment Trailer. I'm going to be using it for hauling my offroad truck, and for other heavy equipment. Now I've found out that I need a new hitch, and I was wondering what you guys prefer. I've been looking at 2 in particular: Reese Class V Tow Beast, and Putnam Class V XDR. Both are rated about the same for carrying weight, the only differences I can see are; The putnam is chaeper by about $120, and the Putnam maintains a 2"x2" reciever, whereas the Reese is a 2 1/2" reciever. I've already gotten my reciever tongues in 2", so I think the Putnam, may be the answer, but I wanted to ask for professional advise.
Thanks.

Not to doubt you, but I don't ever recall seeing a 2" receiver rated for more that 5,000Lbs with a 500Lb tongue rating, where the 2.5" receiver on my truck is rated at 15,000lbs with a tongue rating of 1,500Lbs. Based on what you will be pulling, I would bite the bullet and spend the extra $120 for the piece of mind the Reese will do a better job of handling the weight.

Ok, so I've got Chevy guys saying to go w/ the XDR, and Ford guys saying the Reese is the way to go, now I'm totally confused.
The XDR does list recievers for 2" that are 14K w/ 1400-1600lb tongue rating.
But I'm still unsure of what to get.

I like the concept, the bigger the better. I would go with the 2.5" to know for sure you had enough hitch. But thats just me.

Almost 90% of the people I've talked to in the past couple days, favors the Reese Titan, but I really wish I could find an unbiased report on the two. If I could get a side-by-side comparison, that would make it a lot easier to choose.

Need A New Hitch

By the sounds of it you should have gotten a Goose neck deck over and call it good. I pull a F-150 4x4 shortbox on my car hauler all the time it is my off-road toy until I get my jeep done then it will be my wifes off-road toy. But as for Class 5 hitches go I ain't seen one that was a 2 inch reciever either. I agree with everyone else go with the Reese it is a name you can trust and a company that stands behind there product. I know for fact but I am not here to tell stories.

Also just because you have 2 inch receivers already don't mean they are built for that wieght. They should be stamped with there ratings.

The reason I didn't look into a gooseneck, was that I really didn't want to have a 5th wheel hitch bolted to my bed, (I think it looks ugly) and I will be letting my company use it for work, and the tow guys looking at using it, won't have goosenecks.
