08 f250 6.4 pulling a 07 jayco eagle 325bhs

Thinking about buying a used 2007 Jayco Eagle 325bhs fifth wheel. I'll be using my 2008 F250 6.4 4x4 Lariat with 20' wheels. Has anyone else used this setup or have any concerns with the setup? Thanks!

That will be a piece of cake. I haul a 39 foot Teton that weighs just shy of 14k with my old 1996 7.3.

1996 F250 crew cab. Hypermax intercooler, Gearhead tunes, 4" exhaust, 6637 intake, Autometer gauges, Dana 60, 6.0 cooling fan, Built e40d, Firestone airbags, Full Force stage ones more to come.

I have a Keystone Sprinter 311BHS which is pretty much identical in length and weight to the Jayco you're looking at. My '03 7.3 does pretty well with it. Hauled it from Baton Rouge to Birmingham earlier in the year.

Make sure you buy a really good weight distributing hitch setup. Have a good brake controller. Don't get in a hurry and don't expect to get good fuel mileage. I think I averaged around 10 mpg.

I pull campers commercially with my truck, don't win any acceleration races with 3.55 gears. I stay at 2,025rpm in 4th gear at 55mph and get 10 to 12 mpg average. Got over 12 once with a 31" fifth wheel that had heavy duty F ply tires and that was a heavy camper, made me a believer in those commercial trailer tires help with fuel mileage. I have gone up every major hill in the Western part of the country and never ran out of power or felt that my truck was running to hot. I pull with my 450 tune. Been doing this for 60,000 miles so far this year.

I should add that by running 55mph in 4th gear the EGTs stay in the 600 to 750 range were 5th gear running it will hang out around 900. Boost is in the 8 to 14 range in 4th and 5th gear it will be 20 or higher. IV played with speed and gears and I feel with my trucks gears that 55mph in 4th gear I get the best mileage, truck has awesome power and at the end of the day I'm less drained because the truck is riding smoother and not having to pass people all day long.

The camper is a 37' Montana and has a GWR of 16,960 pounds since it's new and empty I would guess it weighs 14,000 pounds but that I'd just my guess. I'm going from Indiana to Kelowna, B.C. 2,185 miles, nice camper.
