I've done the same stuff - a few years back my company needed me to travel to Louisiana to build a network at one of our new plants. Instead of taking my Jeep I rented a car. I don't remember the model but the sucker was pretty nice. Anyway I left Houston at about 3am and was going through a stretch of road they'd just repaved and well, do the math....my lead foot, no one on the road in the early morning, middle of no where, NEW stretch of road and my radar detector. I was doing about 120mph in a 55mph construction zone, when the friggin radar detector goes off........let me tell ya the anti-lock brakes worked wonderful...................................that is until they literally completely fell apart. I limped the car (that would almost not stop at all now) to the nearest place I could get another car. I told them I'd rented it from the Houston office and that the brakes were "messes up or something". Got a new car and off I went. Oh and apparently the radar detector went off at NOTHING.

Yeah we're about to have those here in Indy as they're forecasting about 4-6+ inches of snow. I can't wait, I love to see how just a little half foot of snow can wreak such havoc on an entire network of fool drivers.

Yeah, here in Colorado you'd think that they've never seen snow before. It's ridiculous, and pretty dangerous. Your average folks get a car, pickup, or SUV with 4 wheel drive or AWD and instantly think they own the road. The thing that these people apparently don't get is that they stop and steer just the same as everyone else on slick roads. Although I do get a measure of satisfaction seeing all the front wheel drivers and awd's and 4x4s flying past me, then passing them a mile or two down the road cause they went out of control and ended up in the median or in a ditch. It does give the opportunity sometimes to make a little extra cash pulling them out (I always carry my 3/8 load chain in the truck) but most times I'll just leave it to the tow trucks.

I enjoy the same thing Overlord! I'll let them get around me vs. having them riding my bumper .... and then see them a little ways down the road into a bank or ditch! Also, after years of research (scientific HAHA ) I've noticed that it's almost always a subaru!!

I think Denver has the worst winter drivers I've seen. I spent a year their in the Army and there was at least three 20+ car pile ups in one winter. I had the best time in the world their though.

Come to Purdue for a week, you will see... Purdue imports thousands of asians, and it seems like they just give em' a drivers licences and throw em' in a car. It halarious the first snowy day, you can't get any where, so many KIAs, Hondas and Toyotas everywhere but on the road. One time (when it was a nice day, no snow) on of em drove from there parking spot right into a store, they had a good 15 ft, a parking curb, the side walk curb, and the brinck wall to stop, but no 3/4 of the car ended up in the building.

What a freakin' night

As usual, not many people know how to negotiate a snowstorm here! I'm sure Wapp and Farmboy are buried under the same 7 or so inches i'm under down on the southside. It was furious today! I went bowling with a friend around 2, no snow on the ground and just a few flurries in the air when we went in. We came out around 3:15 and there was already 2 inches covering the ground. He then had me take him to get his girlfriend who lives about 20 minutes away.....Well add an hour to that for today. Total gridlock everywhere. 3 hours later we get back to his house then I went to an empty lot to do donuts with a friend of mine in our trucks. It was difficult to get a good one going since the snow was so deep. I took some video of it, what a lot of fun. Anyways....I'm done talking about nothing

Well it appears that you got one of the few rentals that wasn't abused too harsh during it's rental life!
