Fort Hood, Killeen, Temple drag racers/curious

Folks have you seen or heard of the Little River Dragway? I plan on going there often to run my stock (for now) truck, when it gets here.

It doesn't give you much room to slow down and the last time I ran down it there was a large dip on the left lane. The grounds are pretty small but I think that's a good thing, you just park in the grass under some trees when you are done racing. I have been meaning to take my mustang there since I got it but never seem to have time. There are some good mud drags around here too that you should check out in Florence and the one in topsey may still be going on.

Good tips. How far down the left lane is that dip? I watched a few 8 second cars go down that lane.

Were they running 8 in the eighth? I haven't seen anything out there running 8 in the quarter before. The dip was around the sixty foot mark iirc but it's been a few years since I was there.

Are you going to run that cougar too? I could get the mustang out there too and it would be like antique car night.

The Cougar needs a LOT of work all of the frame rails are rusted out. While I'm getting that fixed, I plan on building a CLEVOR (windsor with cleveland cylinder heads), then I'll run the truck and the car.

my dad has run many low 5's in the 1/8th down that track, and i have seen a few mid 8sec 1/4 cars also. actually we are talking about making a trip up there for the $2500 to win true 10.5 race this weekend.

Yea we didn't end up going because his dodge a/c went out and I haven't put a gooseneck in my truck yet and we couldn't find a tag along trailer to borrow
