Black Lab - Free to good home

Hey Texas peeps. I have a black lab up for adoption. I'm going to be moving and the apartment that we'll be moving into has a strict policy on pets, and unfortunately I can only keep one dog...

Monty is a black lab between 1-2 years. He was a rescue we picked up from the animal shelter. He is "skiddish" around new people but warms up quickly. Very loving and trusting dog. I've been working with him and he has a few basic commands but still gets distracted easy... He is good with other dogs and cats as well. I'm not quite sure how he is around kids though... He has gotten better around new people from when we first got him so I think he will warm up to new people quickly... I think he was abused before we got him and that is his main reason for being very vocal when approached by "strangers".

He does pretty well on the leash when walking etc... He hasn't really found his water legs yet but I'm sure he will...

If anyone is interested please let me know... I'm in the Houston area now but will be up in DFW this coming weekend.

He is neutered and current on all vaccines. also have a few months left of heart worm meds that will go with him.
