Dallas Dealer Question

Greetings fellow .org members!

I've got a question for you DFW area fellas. Are any of you familiar with Specialty Autoplex in Arlington? I'm looking at a tan 2000 250 with a ZF6 down there through autotrader, and was wondering if anyone had any experience with them. Buying from so far away is all new to me, so any help would be appreciated before I take the dive and blow 1800 bucks on just getting down there, 1000 bucks on shipping it back, and the cost of the truck. I only want one from down there because you guys dont get snow, so there shouldn't be anywhere near the amount of rust that we have to deal with up in the northeast. Thanks alot everybody.

I have lived in the Arlington area for 28 years. I am not familiar with them. I will look them up and see what I can find out. JJ

Thanks guys. Its on East Division st (180) between 360 and N Great SW pkwy if that helps. Looks like its across the street from a major rail conversion.

well that's just fantastic. But then again, we got some wicked shady dealers up here that I would buy from... My problem is that its going to cost me around 3k by the time I get down there, look at it, and ship it up... not including the cost of the truck. For that money, I can get a real nice 03 6.0 with a 6 speed about 30 min from me. I'm just trying to dodge the rust, but I also really dont want to have to deal with a 6.0. I pulled the carfax and there was only 2 pages of results, no significant warranty work that I saw. Could it be one of the few and the proud good 6.0s???? That is the question of the century my friends.

You don't understand. It's prolly the largest line of shady dealers there is running from around Collins on W Div to E of 360. Atleast 4 miles of sporatically spaced, buy em cheap at insurance auctions etc, fix em as cheap as possible and **** em out as fast as you can. There is so much junk sold on that straight of road it aint funny. Some how some of these places manage to get vehicles that don't show wrecks etc and fix em and sell em. I'll prolly be going to Arlington in the next 5 days. Send me all the stuff on it or a link to the listing and I'll check it out. Not a mechanic and no experience with 6.0's but alot of experience elsewhere with a lot of different cars etc, can always snap some photos and and do a little video walk around with the iphone and the engine running.

Have to be very careful.
