Any Texas members have Hogs??

Where are you? I don't think there are many states without them anymore.

I'm in Colorado. Lots of Elk & Deer. No ferral hog problem yet. The way it's portrayed on the web those things are a real problem & threat to crops in Texas. I found lots of "ranches" where you can pay big bucks to shoot them. But can't find anyone who actually has a problem with them & wants them exterminated. Seems more like a business opportunity than any kind of threat or nuisence.
Anyway, Me & a bud or two would gladly make the treck to Texas if there were hogs to chase. I bought a new 338 ultra mag & am dying to shoot it as something other than paper. Thanks for the reply

East and South Texas have the highest population concentration i believe. At least from I have seen. I got a few on my place. We kill anywhere from 8-15 a year off it.

Good for you. Doesn't sound like you're over-run with them.

There are a LOT of places where they are over run. Most places i've seen charge a few hundred to come out and shoot some hogs. I could take you to a few places, but i couldn't guarantee anything. I'd hate for you to drive all this way for nothing. I don't have a place of my own, but know several people that have hogs on their land.


Now what can you do about a elk hunt?? i've always wanted to take an elk!! Especially with my bow!!

I think your going to have a hard time finding someone to let you come out and shoot them because of the liability issues.

Real nice of you to offer. I don't mind spending a few hundred for an good opportunity to hunt them. If you get on the net & type in "PIG BOMB" it makes you think these things are thick as molasses.
Speaking of elk. Two years ago my wife & I each bagged bulls during the muzzlloading season. In fact, according to my GPS we shot them exactly 21.7 miles from our front door. I got a 6x6 hers was a rag horn. You get the tag I'll take you up & show you around. You have to have a quad or horse to get in where we hunt. If you're serious I'll PM you the unit number. Certainly don't want to broadcast that.

Hey, I want that unit number! I have hunted for that animal for years, and NEVER seen one in the woods . I actually just got back into hunting last year after a 7 hiatus

I heard that OK has some hogs, and they don't think they chit gold nuggets like some states
