Aggies!!!! Help. :)
Calling in a favor -
Lisa's Mustang won't start and is sitting in a parking lot off campus. The "Theft" light blinks when she tries to start it. The Google searches say it's the chipped key that is fubar. Tracie is driving up there today to try the other key but if it doesn't work I'll pay someone to tow it over the Ford dealer on Monday. Any help would really be appreciated.

It's a '98 6cly. I've been doing a lot of reading on it this morning and everyone is saying the chipped key is messed up. Hopefully the other key will fire her up.

Whenever i stick my non chipped key in my f150 it does the same thing so I think the key went bad. I use the unchipped key as my hide a key in my wallet since my dog always locks the doors on me....

It could have gotten close to one of those deactivators in the store by the registers, a magnet or just anything that can clear a chip of its program. Something stupid that causes so much headache.

I really do like the fact that my f150 has the chip key, its like a sense of security for me. I used to care if it got stolen but for some reason if it was now it wouldnt bother me as much, sounds kind of harsh right?
