protecting cooling system

Has anyone else experienced damage to intercooler, ect. from hail, rocks misc. I have a 09 F250 6.4. w/4000 miles and made a trip to St Louis in Febuary and ran into a hail storm. Only damage was the intercooler, trans cooler ect. Who makes and sells aftermarket protection that doesn't effect cooling performance. Any help would be appreciated. Ford will be replacing the damaged coolers at the exspene of insurance co minus deductable, and would like to prevent more damage in the future.

love my truck
