Wink What is the next best modification?

Hey! I'm new to the forum and hoping you guys can help me out.
About 6 months ago, I bought my early 99 Ford 7.3 Powerstroke.
The guy I bought it from had already put a Quadzilla Commander Monitor, a DP F-5 Tuner, Volant Intake, and a Silverline Stainless 4" turbo back exhaust on the truck.
I've apparently been bitten my the "I want more power" bug and would like to know what my smartest move on future upgrades and modifications would be. Thanks!

Miranda

I would love to say money is no object, and although it is, if I wanted a certain modification bad enough, I'd just work more and get the money. In the next couple years I'd be willing to put at least $5K into it.

It's got great mid range power, but I'd like to get into drag racing a little, so probably take off power would be great. Anything with more speed!

You might want to consider a built tranny. That's your weakest link.

Welcome to the org.!

Good advice on the trans. I easily sank too much money into my early '99 when I first got it by killing the trans. Started buying go-fast parts then the trans went out, and I wasn't budgeting that. FYI mine died BEFORE I put the tuner on it! And, I checked it out good when I bought it. Good fluid, good OASIS, even drove it a few thousand miles to make sure everything worked right before modding things, then it started slipping...

I would love to join your chapter, how would I go about doing so??
Also, I was tossing up the idea of the transmission, but how do I know if something has already been done to mine. I'm the 3rd owner, so I'm not sure what ALL has been done in it's previous lifetime. All the add on mods are fairly easy to see. I've drove other 7.3's and mine defiently shifts a WHOLE lot better than them. However, that sure doesn't mean that it isn't still stock. Any easy way to tell?
