I've chromed quite a few sets and the best thing I've found that works the best is carbeurator cleaner and an electric toothbrush and then use Q tips to get the little bit left in the corners. Just use masking tape and paper towels to cover around the badges and soak them down and go to work with the toothbrush.

pretty sure he was asking how to get rid of the sticky crap left on the truck once you remove them from the truck.

i found out the hard way brake cleaner and a buffing wheel on a dremel is not a good way to de-blacken them.-lol

I chromed the badge's on my f150 and 250 and the easiest and fastest way I found is acetone with cotton balls and cuetips. When I done my powerstroke ones I took the red lines out also and put white in to go in with the truck.
