Steering wheel fights to return to center.

It's a intermittent problem that shows up at least once a drive cycle. The wheel fights me to go back stright mostly at the center point. It's progressively getting worse and today it made a popping noise. Speed doesn't matter when it happens. It does happen more so within the first couple of miles of driving or after awhile of highway driving. I've checked the fluid level and it's ok. What should I look at next?

Thanks mike

2007 harley f250 6.0l almost stock except for a looney tune, coolant filter, cai, cat back/cat delete, ported intake manifold, studded with a new oil cooler and egr delete. with a edge cts to keep an eye on things.
